Abstract
Purpose: This study was conducted to identify the factors affecting obesity of adolescents in Korea and analyze the effect of eating and cooking show watching frequency on obesity.

Methods: This raw data from 18th (2022) of the Korea youth risk behavior web-based survey was used. The subjects were 24,170 men and 23,828 women, there were 47,998 people in total. Multiple logistic regression analysis was conducted to confirm the relationship between each variable and obesity. In the subgroub analysis, we conducted multiple logistic regression analysis to determine the association between eating and cooking show watching and obesity, stratified by sex.

Results: Compared to less than once a month, ¡°more than once to less than three times a month¡± was 1.12 times higher (OR=1.12 95% CI=1.04-1.22), ¡°more than once a week¡± was 1.07 times higher (OR=1.07 95% CI=1.00-1.14), and ¡°Everyday¡± was 1.14 times higher (OR=1.14 95% CI=1.03-1.27). As a result of stratified analysis to identify differences according to gender, men were more obese than men who watched eating shows and cooking shows more than once a month and less than three times a month (OR=1.17 95% CI=1.06-1.30), 1.13 times more ¡°more than once a week and less than six times a week¡± (OR=1.13 95% CI=1.04-1.23), and 1.43 times more ¡°everyday¡± (OR=1.43 95% CI=1.25-1.64) than ¡°less than once a month¡±.

Conclusion: In this study, it was confirmed that eating and cooking show watching had a significant effect on obesity. Therefore, additional education should help to promote healthy eating habits and increase health awareness to prevent obesity in adolescents.
